Lula: appreciation Letter

Dear companions,

My candidacy for President of Brazil in the next elections was registered this week with the presence of thousands of militants and supporters in front of the Superior Electoral Tribunal in Brasilia.

I was not able to attend personally due the arbitrary prison to which I am subjected, but I want to thank all those who have been in Brasilia and also those who have expressed themselves abroad in supporting the right to apply. There were demonstrations in front of the Brazilian embassies and consulates in dozens of countries and cities organized by the local Committees in Defence of Lula and Democracy in Brazil, composed by the cells of the PT and allied Brazilian parties, friends from local parties and various personalities.

To everyone, thank you very much. I have been convicted of an undetermined fact and with no aiming to take me out of this political dispute, but I assured that I am going to fight until the end for the right to stand for election and for the people of this country’s right to be happy again. May each one of you who joined the struggle this week become an additional fighter to revoke the measures of the coup makers who assaulted Brazil and to create the conditions for our development with social justice.
